Upper Arthurs Creek and streamsides

A long-term, collaborative program to protect and enhance the stream and stream sides of the Upper Arthurs Creek

This program is intended to be a long-term approach to the protection and enhancement of the Upper Arthurs Creek. It will be a collaborative program led by Strathewen Landcare Group and include Melbourne Water, Nillumbik Shire Council and landowners adjoining the Arthurs Creek.

Initially the focus will be on the main stream and later its tributaries.

It is anticipated that activities will include:

  • fencing to exclude stock (and pest animals where important and practical)
  • off-stream stock watering
  • invasive weed control
  • revegetation projects
  • enhancement of native fish habitat
  • understanding of water flows and impact of water removal.
