Prospectus

There are many projects across this complex region that, if funded and implemented, can contribute to achieving the Regional Catchment Strategy’s visions and targets. The map and table below list project proposals considered by organisations and communities of the region to be priorities, and that can individually and collectively contribute to achieving the targets.

The Prospectus is akin to a ‘stakeholder billboard’ on which organisations summarise their most important, desirable, practical and/or innovative project proposals. It is a starting point from which:

  • Stakeholders can build a case for funding from within their own organisations (eg. within annual Council budgeting processes) by showing that the project is aligning with regional, state and/or national priorities
  • Stakeholders can identify similar or complementary project ideas listed by other organisations and then make a connection and potentially expand or merge their proposals
  • Stakeholders can further develop their proposals when suitable funding opportunities emerge
  • Potential investors from the public, private or philanthropy sectors can efficiently browse project ideas across the region (and the connection of each to themes, areas, investment priorities) and identify those they wish to pursue by following up with the project proponent and partners
  • Organisations such as Melbourne Water (as the Regional Catchment Strategy coordinator) and/or others can sort the list when a new funding opportunity emerges and create a ‘short list’ of ideas that meet the funding criteria and can be further developed and promoted.

How to use the Prospectus

On the map, each dot represents a project. Click on any dot to see the project title then click the title to go to the project summary.

In the table below, the projects can be sorted by Priority Projects, In Progress, Completed or Ideas. Priority projects are unfunded and align with the Melbourne Water Biodiversity Conservation Action Plan (BCAP) 2024-2028. Projects can also be sorted by clicking on any of the table headings, or searched by key words. Click on any project title to go to the project summary.

Organisations can propose a priority project which may be added to this Prospectus.
